  1. I have voted in the poll. IMO, 4h and Daily work best for me. I tried various timeframes over the past 3 years and never really ‘got going’. FX is such a big market so a lot of the movements are pure noise.

I moved from trading on the 5m chart to trading on the 15m chart which worked better, but still not quite there.

Scrapped the 15m chart and moved up to the 1 hour chart and there was a very noticeable difference in my trading. There was much more clarity and the signals were stronger. Although, still not quite there.

I then started checking out the 4h chart and worked out whats what and my goodness was it a big difference. In a market as big as FX, you need to find a way to cancel out noise and focus on the important aspects.

Daily chart is similar to 4h in terms of credibility and i trade them both very similarly.

Most traders think they need to trade to make money hence the reason why they try to trade smaller timeframes (admittedly i was one of them, nothing to be embarrassed about). Money is made by sitting/waiting, not ‘trading’.
Initially i assumed id have less trades if i went up to the 4h and Daily charts but even thats far from the truth. I still get 3-6 trades in a week by trading on the 4h charts BUT the signals are MUCH stronger and reliable than the smaller timeframes.

    Hope that helps.

  2. I use them all and when a pair is near a significant trendline or price line I start to zero in with smaller time frames to see when the break out reversal will happen with more clarity. What some people call ‘noise’ can sometimes tell a story better than a 1hr, 4 hr or daily bar.

  3. 1h/4h and daily. Those are the only ones I need to identify a trend. Anything less gives me heart attacks and anything more doesn’t work intraday.

  4. was a bit hard for me to choose, so i chose the 3 i use the most

daily and 4H to analyze is the best to me. For entries, 1 hr, 30 min or 15 minute.

there were times I would look at structure on 15/30 minute but enter on like 5 min to get the best entry possible

entries on 15, 30, 1 hr (depending on the pair, you could be way too late for the move however). analyzing happens on the much higher TFs

  5. For medium-term speculation, you can work on the time interval **Day and Week**. Thus, you can check the graph much less frequently than if you worked inside the day….

  6. I like M15 but look at it from a long view that give me 1-2 weeks of data, similar to what people would trade PA in H1/H4 or candlestick patterns in D1. I just really like the precision of the M15 chart.
